London; 18 May 2023: Turnkey Consulting has been highly commended in the first ever 'Made in the UK, Sold to the World’ awards organised by the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
The initiative celebrates the international trading achievements of UK SMEs and highlights their role in growing the UK economy. In focusing on the vital contribution made by this sector, the awards also aim to encourage more enterprises to explore new export markets.
With seven business categories (Creative Industries; Consumer Goods; Digital; Education; Financial and Professional Services; Food, Drink and Agriculture; and Manufacturing), the awards were judged by senior officials at the DBT and the Institute of Export & International Trade’s (IOE&IT) director general Marco Forgione.
Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch said: “We’re proud of our British exporters and these Awards rightly highlight some fantastic businesses punching above their weight and selling UK-made products around the world. I hope they serve as inspiration to others looking to get onto the exporting ladder.”
Turnkey was one of only three companies to achieve a Highly Commended status in the Financial and Professional Services category.
Exporting has been key to Turnkey’s business since its inception in 2004; the company joined the UK Government’s ‘Passport to Export’ scheme early in its development, receiving support and specific advice that helped to kickstart its international expansion plans. Today, with headquarters in the UK, and additional offices in Australia, France, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore and the US, Turnkey currently exports to Africa, Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and South Asia.
Richard Hunt, CEO at Turnkey Consulting, said: “International expansion has been at the heart of our business from the outset. We have worked hard to develop a strong global presence, overcoming the various challenges presented by creating a consistent service offering across multiple operating centres, and it is hugely rewarding to have this recognised, along with the acknowledgment of the contribution that Turnkey is able to make to the UK as a whole.”
